Boulder Lake
This past week Levi and I, along with my whole family had the opportunity to go backpacking at a beautiful place called Boulder Lake. We had originally planned to go to a place called fourth of July lake, but at the last min. found out that it was still snowed in so we headed to a different place called Shirts Lake. When we got to the road to go to Shirts Lake guess what........... snowed in!!!! We finally decided to head back and go to a place my family went last year, Boulder Lake. It took us a while to decided where to go and to drive there, so by the time we actually got to the trail head it was 8:30 at night and we had a two mile hike (uphill) in front of us with twelve people!!!! By the time we found a camping spot that we liked (and that could accommodate 6 tents) it was 10:00 at night, so everyone got to set up their tents in the dark!! After the tents were set up we made and ate dinner at like 11:00, by the time we were done with dinner everyone was so tired we all just went to bed. We woke up Thursday morning around 8 and had some tasty breakfast and then decided to go on a hike. As we were walking we found this AMAZING camp ground that would fit us and our tents much better and the people that were there were just packing up to leave (perfect timing). We left my mom at the camp ground and everyone else ran to the camp ground we had stayed at the night before and packed all our stuff up real fast so we could snag the other camp ground that we liked better. We didn't bother to take the tents down we just carried them from one camp spot to the next fully assembled (pictures to come)!! We spent the rest of the day walking around and playing in the water and eating!! Later that night we had a camp fire complete with s'mores and embarrassing stories!! Unfortunately I had to work on Saturday so Levi and I had to leave one day earlier then the rest of the family. It was a wonderful camping trip and I really enjoy backpacking!! It really was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been the pictures just don't do it justice!! Thank you to my wonderful mom and dad for planning this trip and having the courage to take TWELVE people backpacking three of them under the age of nine!!!! Mom and dad you are the BEST we LOVE you!!! More pictures to come when I get them from moms camera.
